The Farthest Edge (Honey #2) by Kristen Ashley

4 Stars

Evangeline Brooks has pulled herself away from her friends and the club she frequents called The Bee’s Honey. After a traumatic experience with her ex boyfriend, she has pulled herself so far from that lifestyle, she isn’t sure it is what she wants anymore. Until, she is talked into meeting someone who may be just the ticket to dipping back in, with some no strings and completely safe fun.

Branch Dillinger has been living his life in the shadows, doing odd jobs that his training as a soldier comes in handy for. He knows what he needs sexually, and sometimes settles for what is available just to get it. Meeting Evangeline doesn’t work out… until she proves to him that she is the one in charge, whether he accepts it or not.

When these two damaged people enter in a sex only arrangement, that let’s face it, lasts about 2.5 seconds… they will either heal each other, or the damage will become permanent…

I enjoyed this book, the story did move fairly slowly, but I enjoyed Evangeline and Branch’s progression to their HEA. While they try to move past their individual circumstances that may be holding them back, they easily fall into a comfortable pattern with each other… which happens to include Branch being tied to the bed… a lot. Definitely some steaming sex and an interesting twist on the KA alpha male.

This book and the entire Honey series is such a departure from your usual Kristen Ashley story setting… when you hear Domme, male subs and a sex club, you may not know what to expect.  This story is written to include her typical Alpha bad a** characters, great friendships and the kind of backgrounds and slow burn stories you have come to love and expect from KA. But the twist is… a lot of graphic male sub sex scenes. Very descriptive, detailed scenes where nothing is held back. Fair warning, if this is something that you don’t want to read about, whether KA is a favorite author or not this book may not be for you.

All in all this book is an interesting and different addition to Kristen Ashley’s repertoire and the second in the Honey Series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
