I really liked the premise of this story and was hoping for a fun, enemies to lovers type of read. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed as a whole with this book…
Ann and Jack had a relationship young and when they broke up, they broke up big. In the years since, neither has been able to move on and be in a real relationship without thinking about each other. And, now that Jack is back, he is ready to rekindle what they once had, while Ann can’t get over the way he obliterated her young heart.
The sex in this book was super hot, and while I enjoyed the sex scenes, I felt like that was all that Ann and Jack’s relationship consisted of. The revenge didn’t really happen and there were some predictable conflicts that were easily resolved.
I love this authors other work, and feel like since this book was one of her earlier works, she has since fine tuned her writing to be something much better than this older book reflects.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
