Happy Hour (Charity Case #3) by Piper Rayne

4 Stars

Hannah Crowley is a woman who won’t let the ruins of her marriage affect her any longer… well, not too much. It doesn’t help when the lawyer her ex-husband used to get half of her assets keeps finding his way into her life. Despising him is natural, but when Roarke does Hannah a BIG favor, she is helplessly in debt to him, which requires her to now spend some time with him… and try to play nice for a little while…

Roarke Baldwin is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. His infatuation with Hannah may have never been the most convenient of things, but now that her divorce is final, his pursuit of her is definitely happening.

With five tiny little favors, Hannah and Roarke embark on an unconventional trip of getting to know each other… but other than their undeniable attraction, will they end up liking what they see in each other…

This was a really great read! As the final book in the Charity Case series, I was super ready to finally read Hannah and Roarke’s story! With the promise of delightful banter and the need to overcome some major relationship hurdles, this book delivered with another fantastic story.

Since her divorce, Hannah has spent her time focusing on getting her non-profit organization up and running. When she runs into a problem, and Roarke is the only one with a solution, she finds herself at the mercy of owing him a few… favors. Ahem, non-sexual of course… Roarke insists he wants more than to just have sex with her.

Roarke has never apologized for his career and the way he does what is right for his clients. But, getting Hannah to see him as someone other than opposing counsel is a lot harder than he thought it would be. So, in his genius plan to have Hannah learn a little bit about him by seeing his life from the inside, Roarke sets out to thaw Hannah’s heart little by little…

This book was such a fun read! Hannah was a great character, while a little damaged and in need of healing from her divorce, she is a surprisingly selfless and independent woman. Roarke, while he is a highly successful divorce lawyer, he also has an incredibly sweet and caring side to him. And, during the duration of their agreement, he hopes Hannah will be able to see past his cut throat exterior, and see that he is a man she could even possibly fall for…

Super sexy, funny and a completely distinct read, I really enjoyed Hannah and Roarkes happily ever after… their own way.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
