“In tennis, Love means zero. I call that poetic.”

When Maren Murphy returns home at the behest of her recently deceased grandfather, she plans to get in, get out and avoid as many people as possible… especially one person in particular. Easier said than done when her grandfather is pulling strings in the form of his will and his final requests…

Noah Callahan has loved Maren for over a decade. With his regret at how their relationship ended being the only thing he has never been able to find redemption for, now that she is back in town, he is going to use every opportunity he has to get something back of the friendship and love they once shared…

This book was amazing. With laughter inducing scenes one minute and tear jerking ones the next, this story was a perfect balance of the harsh reality of lost love mixed in with the comic relief you find with those you love most…

Maren is a pro tennis player who left her hometown in devastation and has been working hard and focusing on her career ever since. Finding excuses to always stay away, once she loses her grandfather and suffers an injury all in one swoop, she finds herself stuck staying for awhile. Enter in Noah, the boy she loved from the moment she laid eyes on him, and the man who ripped her heart out of her chest and stomped all over it.

Noah made a lot of mistakes in his past, and he knows he deserves ever ounce of vitrol that Maren tosses his way. But, now that she is finally back, he can’t stop himself from trying to get her to see that he is a changed man from the one she once knew, the one who broke her heart. And while he wants another chance, she doesn’t even believe anymore that true love really exists…

Funny, sexy and filled with so much emotion and deep thought, this book was everything I love about reading wrapped up in some of my absolute favorite romance tropes. It was also beautifully written, with authentic, multi-faceted characters and their complicated relationships, this story had me completely absorbed from beginning to end.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
