Nothing Personal by Karina Halle

4.5 Stars

Nova Lane’s dream job is finally within her reach. Until the man whom she left behind years ago shows up on her territory ready to take it right out from under her. Not only does seeing Kessler bring back memories that she would rather forget, but her long dormant feelings start to resurface as well.

Kessler Rocha is relocating to Hawaii with his young son for a temporary job and a new start. Hoping that things work out in his favor and desperate for the change of pace, seeing Nova again since she ghosted from his life all those years ago is just an added bonus.

Nothing Personal was an uproariously funny story that I adored every single minute of reading!! Nova and Kessler’s long simmering attraction burns up the pages of this entertaining second chance romance that you DO NOT want to miss!!

Nova was an amazingly independent woman who has worked to leave her heartache she experienced with Kessler completely behind her, by starting over somewhere new and far from home, completely on her own. Flummoxed to see Kessler again, and to have him inserting himself in her office, and her life, is the last thing she wants. And she isn’t afraid to go head to head with him over it.

For Kessler, becoming a full time father when his son is already a few years old is a difficult transition. While they are both struggling to adjust to their new normal, Kessler decides to grab the opportunity to move, starting a new job and relocating somewhere as beautiful (and different) as Hawaii in the process. Ready for the change, and to see Nova again, he soon discovers that it is very unlikely that any sort of a happy reunion he is expecting with her is the going to happen. When he ended their fling, their friendship was obliterated as well.

Gah! I just loved this book so much. It was sexy AF and a deliciously fun read, and I seriously could not put it down! The setting was absolutely divine, with the details of Christmas in Hawaii leaving me longing for a vacation there immediately!!

Nova and Kessler were extremely likable and genuine characters whom I couldn’t get enough of. From their always antagonistic encounters leading into some strong sexual tension, there was never a dull moment in their journey to a HEA.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
