Dead of Night was a suspenseful and steamy beginning to the Thorne Hill Series. With an inherent distrust between Callie and Lucas, the two should be staying far away from each other. But with an attraction that only comes around every few thousand years or so, there is no way they can stay away from each other for too long…

Callie was one tough and powerful witch. With a looming danger and quite a few unanswered questions causing her a lot of distress, she finds herself in a battle with an unknown adversary, and with the need to protect herself and the people she loves. And with Lucas entering her life at the same time, she is left with the question of his timing being a coincidence… or something much darker…

Lucas is a gorgeous vampire who is very old and extremely powerful, but he has been rather bored with his life lately. The minute he lays eyes on Callie he recognizes that she is someone who changes everything, and he might just be ready for something he has never wanted before… a real, lasting relationship…

I really enjoyed the plot and characters in this book. With a forbidden love story coupled with all the logistics of a witch and a vampire co-exisitng, Callie and Lucas have their work cut out for them in the relationship department.

The sex in this book was super hot, and at times could get a little repetitive, but was scorching all the same. With more of this series to come, there are still a lot of looming unanswered questions, and hopefully a whole lot more of Callie and Lucas’ sexy and impossible relationship to drool over…
