But in the years since everything between them fell apart, Shay is no longer a woman who will fall into Easton’s arms so easily… as long as she puts some much needed distance between them. Having her heart completely obliterated by Easton once was enough, thank you very much.

Easton left Jackson Harbor to pursue a career in the NFL, and now that he is in retirement, there is nowhere he would rather be than his hometown and all of the happiness that he left behind there. And most of all, bringing his young daughter to a place where she will be surrounded by the entire Jackson family means a lot to him. Especially the one family member that Easton is most happy to reconnect with, Shay, the woman he has never been able to forget.

This was a fabulous read. With all the angst and drama centered around Shay and Easton’s past and present relationship, the truth of their past is slowly revealed, with every painful twist and turn included. I loved how both Shay and Easton knew what was important in life, even if they had a hard time applying that knowledge in their own situations. I rooted hard for this couple and even after their epically slow burn storyline, I enjoyed their journey immensely.

I’ll have to admit that this is my first book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series, and after reading it I was so bummed that I have so far missed what seems like some fabulous stories from the Jackson family. BUT, this book was so well done, I didn’t once feel like I was ever lost in this story from missing all the rest of the series (so far!!) I will definitely be returning to Jackson Harbor to catch up, especially now that I know what a great ending this series will deliver.
