With the loss of her father, Cleo Dawson is back in Lake Starlight, Alaska waiting to carry out his final wishes and to step in as the new owner for Lifetime Adventures, the business he leaves behind. But at the reading of his will, she finds out that she isn’t the only one with a claim to the family business…
Denver Bailey is a bush pilot who dearly misses his friend and mentor, Chip Dawson. Working for Chip changed Denver’s life completely and he can only hope that Chip’s legacy will survive after his death, even if the responsibility of co-inheriting Lifetime Adventures is the last thing Denver ever expected… or wanted.

Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy was a sweetly emotional read that never failed to entertain while we fall in love with the self proclaimed playboy and the woman who never fails to put him in his place. Cleo and Denver have a mutual dislike that makes working closely together to bring success back to Lifetime Adventures an uncomfortable experience… especially when they realize that their friction has been hiding an attraction all along…
Before losing her father, Cleo had a somewhat strained relationship with Chip Dawson, and she may be holding onto a teeny tiny bit of resentment when it comes to Denver and his close relationship he shared with him. So while co-inheriting the business is a quite the burn, ultimately she wants to turn her fathers legacy around and make the business successful again… with or without her extremely cocky business partner’s help…
Denver prefers life without attachments, and co-owning a business was never in his plans. But Lifetime Adventures means everything to him, just like the man who he lost much too soon. So when he and Cleo are offered the chance of a lifetime to bring some much needed exposure (and cash) to the business, they jump at the opportunity and a reality showed called Uncovering America’s Beauty.
This was another great Bailey read! Denver and Cleo’s story was sad and sweet, and it brought two people together, who have never gotten along, but share an impactful mutual loss. From business partners, to friends and then… everything, Denver and Cleo’s relationship heat level is more of a sizzle than a burn, but their story was heartwarming and full of adorable Bailey antics and family time.
