Maybe there’s one of us in every family.  

The guy who scorns all the rules.  

The guy who shuns expectations.  

The guy most commonly known as the ultimate villain in a cultish self help movement.

On the other hand, perhaps we’re not as common as I thought.  

But so what if I’m never anyone’s hero? 

At least I’m a good brother. That is the one thing I manage to get right.  So when my big sister is abandoned by her prick of a husband, leaving her and her four kids alone a week before Christmas, I don’t hesitate to head home.  

To my surprise, I’m not the only one who shows up.  

Katrina has always been my sister’s best friend.  She’s headstrong and hot. She’s neurotic and sexy.  She belts out old power ballads with horrible, tuneless abandon and her hair always smells like vanilla cookie batter.
