Chloe Fisher has been in love with Sam Harris since she was a kid, but a romance between the two unlikely friends was never meant to be. Inevitably, they lose touch and move on, to each become successful in their own right. And now, when they are both finally back in their hometown of Silver Ridge, the former comrades find themselves running into each other, time and time again…

Backup Plan was a highly entertaining, slowest-of-slow-burns romance! Chloe and Sam were once great friends, but after a falling out, haven’t seen each other in years. Chloe went on to be a successful author living in LA, while Sam became a doctor in Chicago. Reuniting in Silver Ridge, the two put the past behind them, but the feelings that they have been harboring for each other for years are finally threatening to spill over, once and for all…
Chloe was a refreshing character! Comfortable in her own skin, and with her many quirks, she has made a career out of her fantastical imagination by writing the highly popular Nightfall series. And when the books went on to become a beloved TV series, Chloe Fisher was suddenly a household name. But fame has done little to change the awkward and modest Chloe.
Sam may have been way more popular than Chloe in high school, but he always found a way to treat her like she was the most important girl in the room. And although they haven’t seen each other in years, the second they meet again, it is just like old times… but with an undeniable sexual attraction.
This was such a great read, even though it took such a long time for some Chloe/Sam action! I mean, the book was at about 80% before we got any sort of sexy times! So, while being incredibly slow burn, we were given an extremely well represented story of Chloe and Sam reconnecting after years apart, and discovering each other all over again.
Chloe and Sam are on the road to their HEA, but beware, this book ends on a cliffhanger!! But, never fear, book two, Desperate Times is set to release at the end of October.
