Real Fake Love (Copper Valley Fireballs) by Pippa Grant

4 Stars

Luca Rossi hates love, and yet somehow people always invite him to their weddings. And the latest one he is forced to attend turns out to be a real doozy…

Henrietta Bacon loves love a little too much. After many, many failed engagements, she needs someone to teach her how to quit falling in love so easily… and she knows just the right man for the job…

Real Fake Love was extremely funny and completely off the wall at the same time. Henri and Luca forge a friendship and a fake relationship as a convenience to both of their problems, but this unlikely pair might just fall for each other no matter how much they try not to…

Henri was hilarious walking disaster. In between getting engaged and writing insane paranormal romance, she walks through life instigating one hilarious antic after another.

Luca is a professional baseball player who refuses to become too comfortable in a city for too long. And while he keeps to himself and has sworn off all things love, when his Nonna comes to town, Luca knows he is in trouble when she gives him her cursed ‘eye” which ALWAYS results in the receiver succumbing to a relationship. Unless his surprise house guest can somehow help him avoid the curse…

Henri and Luca’s story was an entertaining and enjoyable read, set against the success story of the Copper Valley Fireballs current baseball season. With the ongoing great mascot competition and the numerous superstitions at play, there was never a dull moment in this over the top and charming story!
