4.5 Stars

Blue Baldwin moved to Ojai, CA to escape the madness that is Los Angeles, and she promptly fell in love with her new home and career. And while running an animal rescue is a far from glamours endeavor, Blue couldn’t be happier with her chosen path of helping animals in need. So when Blue’s idyllic life is upended by a recalcitrant movie star, she refuses to take the upheaval laying down…

Shane Hughes has no desire to babysit his brother Aidan, but after he gets himself in some major trouble, Shane decides to tag along during his community service assignment. Volunteering at a large animal rescue for the next few months should keep his brother out of trouble… but Aidan is nothing if not a magnet for bad decisions…

Out Of The Blue was an incredibly slow burn, complicated and sexy, opposites attract romance! Blue and Shane have both been burned by relationships in the past, and they both know that any sort of romance between them would be temporary, at best. But staying away from each other seems like even more of an unnecessarily torturous sacrifice… no matter how much it may hurt when they inevitably say good-bye…

Blue was a strong and independent woman who experienced a trauma that turned her world upside down. Living at the animal rescue has saved her, and she could never imagine returning to her old life, nor does she plan on it. I loved her for so many reasons, from her realistic outlook on her relationship with Shane, to her acceptance of the life she needs to live after the incident, Blue was an admirable character who knew what was best for herself, and stuck to it.

Shane is a successful and protective, former military man, who would do anything for his brother… whether he deserves it or not. As a self-proclaimed nomad, Shane never stays in one place for too long, and settling somewhere for the sake of a relationship is something he refuses to ever do again. And while Shane is wholly intrigued by Blue, the last thing he needs is another commitment in his life…

This book was a super sexy story, that was written in a single point of view. And while I tend to prefer a point of view from both of the main characters, this book held it’s own by following Blue’s intriguing personality and the hang-ups that she had from her past. I loved the premise of this book and the humor involved in the entertaining plot and the wonderful characters. Blue and Shane’s romance was sexy and fun, and the perfect addition to a fantastic storyline…

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
