Abigail McNerny has harbored a crush on Rex McMurtry long before the rest of the world knew him as a famous pro football athlete. So, what’s a girl to do when her ex-classmate, and still very current crush, asks her to fake marry him? Why, agree to help in anyway possible, of course!

Homecoming King was a sweet, incredibly slow burn, opposites attract romance! Abby has been through some incredibly hard times, so when her high school crush suddenly re-enters her life, she has difficulty believing that he could ever truly need anything from her. But Rex knows exactly what he’s getting into when he asks Abby for a fake relationship… or at least he hopes he does…

This was a wonderful and festive read with extremely likable and highly interesting characters! Abby was a strong, independent woman who has had some issues in her past that have caused her to not give her trust easily. And while she was guarded, she was also incredibly loyal and hated to be anything but completely truthful. I also absolutely loved the crafty side to Abby’s personality, and I couldn’t get enough of the descriptions of her vast creativity and the projects that she was always in the midst of.

I absolutely loved Rex’s growly behavior when it came to dealing with anyone but Abby. Although they had their moments of miscommunication, Rex always made it very clear that Abby had his total devotion… she just needed to pay attention a little more!

I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to everything that this series has to offer! I am already hooked on some of the side characters that we were introduced to, and I am impatiently waiting for the next story in this already highly entertaining series.
