Second Shot with #76 is a second chance, sports romance that packed in the drama and the always entertaining antics of the Florida Fury hockey family. Ande and Cory shared a vacation fling that stuck with them, but was destined to fizzle out. But when Ande is relocated right down the road from the rookie hottie? Their sparks are about to be seriously reignited…
This book was an enjoyable read, there were aspects of it that I loved, and it had a wonderful ensemble of characters! Ande was very guarded in her relationship with Cory. After a less than stellar upbringing and an ex cheating on her, trust is hard for her to come by. Cory went a little off the rails, hook-up wise, after he realized that Ande wasn’t interested in him. Now he has a slightly tarnished reputation, and a lot of work that he has to do to show Ande that he wants only her.
My favorite aspect of this book was the spotlight on the importance of Cory’s place in professional hockey. The moments that he had with his young fans, and with his dad, were truly inspiring, and made me love him so much more.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
