4.5 Stars

Starting as a lowly prostitute, to becoming an infamous madam, Magnolia Maison’s story has not always been an easy, or glamorous one. And although she has worked hard to put the sex trade behind her, she continues to live the lessons of her past. So when one of her biggest regrets blows back into town, Magnolia is determined to show him just how little affect his absence has had on her…

Moses Gaspard is back in New Orleans to claim the woman he loves. There is quite simply no woman like Magnolia Maison, and he is prepared to show her just how much she means to him… and he can’t wait for the battle he is going to have to wage to win her back…

Creole Kingpin was the tumultuous and incredibly sexy beginning to the dramatic Magnolia Duet. Showcasing a strong female character and a delicious hero who makes you want to do some very bad things, the story of Magnolia and Moses held me enchanted and at the same time, desperate for more. Second chances and romantic suspense set in the backdrop of New Orleans, this book is an escape unlike any other…

Magnolia was a fiercely independent and unapologetically strong woman, and despite the circumstances of her past, she has built a great life for herself. Giving her heart to a man during one of the most turbulent times in her life was something new for Magnolia, but she took the leap, only to be left behind. And now, 15 years later, Moses is back and looking to pick up where they left off… but Magnolia is well aware of how much she should trust someone who claims they want to take care of her…

Moses had his reasons for leaving New Orleans all those years ago… and for never looking back. He couldn’t stay, and Magnolia couldn’t leave, but his circumstances have changed, and the only thing he is missing in his life now, is the woman he hasn’t been able to forget for the past 15 years…

This book was a suspenseful, sexy and intricately woven story. I was fascinated by Magnolia and Moses’ backstory of falling in love in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the ways they have both changed in the years they have been separated since. Not only was the relationship focus top notch, but the added suspense portion of this storyline did its job in adding some extra drama and complexities to the plot that served to keep me glued to the page.

This was another great read from the incredibly talented Meghan March… which of course, ends with an unforgettable cliffhanger! Madam Temptress will conclude Magnolia and Moses’ story, and is set to release April 14, 2020.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
