There were so many great elements to this book, and the plot was weaved together well with many suspenseful and mysterious threads. I really enjoyed the dark and twisted love story and Thorn’s intense obsession with Alana that fueled it all. This story introduced many ideas in a fantasy world, with health and wealth tied to precious gemstones that power social media companies and their owners. And while some plot details worked better than others, I felt that the story sometimes focused too much on the fantastical elements, and not the bigger picture, like lurking enemies, or the secrets waiting to be revealed. But in the end, the story wrapped up nicely and left room for the series to continue and grow.
