Bananapants was a funny, sexy and complicated, second chance, romance read! Ava and Des were once inseparable childhood best friends, who loved each other dearly. And then one day, Des disappeared from Ava’s life, and she was left reeling in his absence. Ten years later, Des is back… but for how long?!
Ava was ridiculous, and I absolutely loved her for it! Her unique outlook on things and her quirky personality made her an endearing and lovable character. She was a strong woman who missed her best friend, and the boy she loved since she was 15 years old…
Des was diagnosed bipolar as a teenager and struggled greatly with his disorder. As an adult, he works hard to have a handle on his mental health, but his past issues are always in the forefront of his mind. He wishes nothing more than to have a normal future, with a woman *just* like Ava… but those just weren’t the cards he was dealt…
This book was a great read, and a welcome return from one of my favorite authors! I really enjoyed the struggles that Ava and Des overcome throughout this book, and their friends to lovers romance was SO GOOD! The characters were fantastic, and has it been mentioned… this book introduces a Knitting in the City second generation! I have been waiting for this for so long, and I loved revisiting all of KITC characters… and their future!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
