Merritt was a very strong character who lived through the worst abuse at the hands of her ex-husband. Her ability to put that behind her and be there for her nephew who needed her was admirable, and she proved time and time again just how strong she was.
Tristan was protective of Merritt from the first moment he met her, and when he got his chance to be with her, he was immediately all in. I loved his natural ability to put Merritt at ease and how he effortlessly showed her that he is one of the good guys, especially after she had seen the worst from her ex.
The relationship between Merritt and Tristan was sweet and trusting, but boy were there some spicy moments as well! I really enjoyed the journey that Merritt goes through in this book for finding herself again, learning how to trust, and finding true friendships.
