When life as she knows it ends up in shambles, Jessica needs some time away from Dallas, TX and all of the problems that come with it. Booking a getaway in the small town of Sweetwater is supposed to be just that… until she meets a cowboy who has trouble written all over him…

With the burden of the family ranch weighing on him, Jason Jenks does not need the inconvenience of a city girl staying on his property… at all. Especially one whom he just can’t seem to stay away from. Plus, Jason already knows what city girls do after they’ve had their fill of country life… they always leave.

The Truth About Cowboys was an entertaining and engaging read about a woman working to reinvent herself in the wake of realizing how much she has sacrificed her happiness in favor of false stability. The only thing that Jessica and Jason can agree on is how much they drive each other crazy… but when the thin line between hate and lust gets blurred, their lives are in for an unforgettable ride…

Upon discovering her fiancé in bed with another woman, Jessica, a divorce lawyer, makes the mistake of insulting a client she is representing and pretty much ensuring she will never make partner at her current firm. With a book deal to fall back on, Jessica decides she needs a change of scenery to be able to focus and get her life back to where she wants it. And Sweetwater, TX seems like just the place to get away from it all…

Following the sudden death of his parents, Jason’s life was forever changed. The once crazy talented baseball phenom traded in his cleats for cowboy boots and has never looked back since… or has he? Having Jessica around has given Jason a dangerous new outlook on his future, and what once seemed impossible is starting to seem like it’s more within reach than ever…

This was a great read! I loved the banter and the rampant sexual tension between Jessica and Jason, and even though it took the FOREVER to get to an HEA, it was well deserved. I also felt that the story had way too many misunderstandings and jumped to conclusions  (I’m looking at you, Jason). A few here are there are a great plot tool, but there were so many in this storyline, when their HEA finally did happen, I didn’t feel like it was a genuine as it could have been.

Jessica and Jason were both strong willed and successful in their own right, and while they had both been burned in previous relationships, they will need to dig deep to overcome their hangups about the opposite sex. From enemies, to lovers, to friends… the relationship between Jessica and Jason is a bumpy, yet enjoyable road from beginning to end.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
